On Tuesday this week our Year 8 pupils were given the opportunity to visit the University of Sunderland to find out about what life is like studying at university. Pupils participated in two workshops, journalism and rocket cars and also had a tour of the campus with some even managing to have a sneaky peek at a film set that was currently being used by an international film company!

Academy 360 - Jun 27
Yesterday, 14 of our Year 7 pupils were given the opportunity to attend a Careers Insight Day at two local manufacturing companies, Polyfoam XPS and Cicor to learn more about the world of advanced manufacturing. Pupils discovered what polyfoam is, its many uses in homes and buildings as well as how it is made and they even got to see the process of it being made during our tour of the factory. Following this, they were given a tour of Cicor, an electronics factory, and got to see how circuit boards are made for use in electronic devices. A fantastic morning was then finished with pizza for lunch and some goodies to take away.
