EDT Stem Challenger Day

Yesterday, some of our Year 8 students took part in an exciting immersive technology workshop, exploring how digital innovation is shaping the future of design and industry. 

The day began with an introduction to EDT and the Industrial Cadets programme, before pupils were set a Challenger activity focused on designing a sustainable school. Students then explored Polycam, learning how immersive technologies can be used to create digital captures of real-world environments. 

Working in teams, pupils developed their own sustainable school concepts before bringing their ideas to life using Delightex, where they created 3D immersive classroom environments and then used mini robots to travel around their school. 

It was fantastic to see our young people demonstrating creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills while gaining an insight into emerging technologies and the careers connected to them
